"Everybody lives by selling something."
One of my heroes, Robert Louis Stevenson said that. Stevenson wrote grand, dramatic
adventures like "Treasure Island", "Jekyl & Hyde" and "Kidnapped!".
I can not write like that. Believe me, I've tried.
One of the most difficult things about being a writer is trying to figure out where you fit in.
Poems aren't for everyone. Short stories are too long. Essays bore me to death.
So when I first heard of singles I was intrigued. Singles were casette tapes when I was a kid.
Many of the rappers I admired most I first met through singles. Ice-T, Public Enemy, the Beastie
Boys, all these artists I grew to love were singles first.
Each single is made from scratch. Each singles is written in one sitting. A singles is something
you can read on the run.
My job as writer is making stories easier to read. There is nothing I love more than a good story
well told. A singles is one I want to share with you.
Singles begin with the hint of meaning. Have you ever had something happen to you that left
you wondering: what did it mean?
My role is to let you know up front what you're in for. I'm not trying to trick you, like some
writers are. Each single is 100% irony free.
I'm from Worcester, I can only mean what I say.
Singles take personal experience and convert them into the most valuable currency, wisdom.
Each of these is a little bit of wisdom I’ve gleaned.
